  Frequently Asked Questions about ResumeHunter

How do we get started?
Once you make a purchase, we will send you our electronic project form where you will provide us with all the information to get a jump-start on your project. Following the receipt of that information, one of our internet recruiting consultants will contact you to discuss the project in more detail.

What resume databases/websites are utilized to source candidates?
We are proud that we subscribe to the top three resume databases and research websites in the U.S. In addition, we have access to hundreds of niche and local resume databases. Overall, we possess technology to source active candidates and research passive candidates. Please contact us for a complete list – it’s quite impressive! If we don’t have immediate access to a particular database, we can create a custom program just for you.

How recent are the resumes that are sourced?
We will source resumes dating back to one year (depending on your selection) from the day of the engaged requisition. Our goal is to provide you with the most recent information available. We will continue sourcing candidates during the 30 days following the request.

What happens if ResumeHunter does not find resumes that match your search criteria?
If we cannot find resumes that match your specific search criteria during our initial search, you will not be charged for that particular requisition. Resume databases are usually a good barometer for a successful search. If we can’t find resumes, your job specs may need to be reevaluated or relaxed.

What’s the difference between resume sourcing/research and a search firm?
A search firm utilizes many of the same recruiting resources a sourcing and research service uses to source candidates. The main difference between the two is the time spent with the candidate after the sourcing process. Search firms will then screen and interview the candidate(s) before submitting to the client. In some cases, the search firm will coordinate interview efforts, background checks, drug screens and reference checks. Basically, the client is outsourcing the entire recruiting cycle to the search firm. Because the entire process is outsourced, search firms can be expensive to engage.

A resume sourcing service simply sources resumes/leads and submits target resumes/leads to the client. From there, the client does the rest. In this case, the client is outsourcing a portion of the recruiting process (sourcing). A sourcing service is definitely a low-cost recruiting option. It’s an effective way to take advantage of the recruiting tools search firms use without the cost.

What is the difference between a Passive and Active candidate? Passive candidates are generally not searching for new employment opportunities. Therefore, they are not uploading their resumes in databases, looking at newspaper ads or job boards. However, passive candidates can be identified utilizing technology tools.

Active candidates are strategically planning a career move and are generally utilizing multiple resources to pinpoint their next job. Resume databases are very popular amongst active candidates. It’s a great way for a job seeker to “park their resume” and tell a story about their work history and background.

We combine technology with people to yield the best possible search results.
